Human Vision

Humans are especially good at seeing color and fine detail in daylight. In darkness, we can eventually see shapes, but colors become difficult to identify.

Try These

  1. Choose “Barn owl,” then move from daylight to starlight.
  2. Compare an eagle and a deer at twilight.
  3. Set cones to 1 and rods to 4. What information becomes easier or harder to detect?
